Coerver Coaching

Coerver Coaching

COERVER® COACHING views the game not just as an 11 v 11 contest on a whole field but as constantly changing sequences of play between two, three and sometimes four players. Team systems are important, but they are only as good as the individual players in them. They cannot compensate for poor control or inaccurate passing and shooting. We believe that individual technique and small group skills in attack and defense determine a team’s success.

COERVER® COACHING therefore focuses on individual skill development and small group play.

YEARS of EXCELLENCE

COERVER® COACHING was created in 1984 by Alfred Galustian, International Director, and Charlie Cooke, Director the Americas, and inspired by player development ideas first promoted in the late 1960s by the Dutch coach Weil Coerver.

In a global climate of defensive play, the goal was to improve individual skills and produce better attacking players and teams and more exciting and effective play. Up to that time it was accepted that great players were innately gifted and that their skills were beyond the average player.

However, studies showed that this assumption was wrong and that many of the great players’ 1 v 1 moves and control skills could be broken down and taught to even the youngest players.

Since 1984, COERVER® COACHING has developed from the handful of moves of the great players into a comprehensive training program that encompasses all aspects of the modern game.

It is now widely acknowledged as “The # 1 Soccer Skills Teaching Method” with a worldwide network of Player Camps and Coaches Schools featuring educational DVDs, books and seminars and clinics.

A GLOBAL SOCCER coaching program inspired by the teachings of Weil Coerver and created in 1984 by Alfred Galustian, International Director and Charlie Cooke, Director of the Americas.

Today COERVER®COACHING is a worldwide soccer education company with camps, schools, events and educational products available in Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania.

A soccer skills teaching method suited for all ages but particularly effective for players aged 5-16 years and their coaches, parents and teachers.

• A method that focuses on small group play and individual skills development.

• A curriculum represented in The COERVER® COACHING Pyramid of Player Development© and Pyramid of Moves©

A Curriculum that has been endorsed and recommended by the top Federations, Associations, club teams, legends and experts of the game, including FIFA and UEFA.
